while we're on the subject...

check out some other art and inspiration at;
illustrationfriday.com - Art from amateurs and well knowns and every day people like you and me.
woodentoypublishingco.com - Full of stuff I want to look at til my neck is too sore from staring at the computer screen for far too long.
hellolovely.net - Here You will find illustrations, like the one pictured, and other goodies from the sweet Joelle Peters. I went to high school with Joelle, (I was a bit too wild back then and consequently don't remember much about those years) we hung in different circles and although I can't tell you much about her personality apart from that she's sweet and quiet, I do know that she has incredible creativity and skill. Her fashion illustrations have been featured in various publications, appearing in Vogue Australia, Oyster magazine and lighting up computer monitors via Perth retailer maximillia's namesake website. Go Girl.

RIK LEE

The amount of creative talent I come across every day is amazing, and Melbourne based artist Rik Lee is no exception. I particularly enjoy "The Kids Are Losing Their Minds" which was created for Wooden Toy's Lyrics and Type show. His works are simple and clean cut but still manage to convey such emotion. Check his stuff out at riklee.wordpress.com ...... Oh how I wish I could draw........

CELINE

Oh me Oh my, where do I start? Fall 2010 ready to wear was a joy all round, but it was Pheobe Philo's Celine that really captured the spirit of the season. Understated luxury. Camel Coats, leather tees, silk blouses, tuxedo jackets, silver heeled boots and a return to a wider leg silhouette for trousers all made it onto the catwalk. Pheobe I salute you.

DEL KATHRYN BARTON

The wild and wonderful world of Australian native and celebrated artist Del Kathryn Barton makes my heart sing. Her powerful works explore the intricacies of nature and the complexities of the human condition. Del is best known for her 2008 Archibald prize winning work titled "You are what is most beautiful about me, a self portrait with Kell and Arella", but for someone like me, who devours her artworks as if they really are made up of life giving magic, its hard to choose a favourite. Her work shown here "or make myself a space to inhabit too" is a perfect example of her talents. Soft and strong all rolled into one. Inspiring.
